Montgomery, AL – Following racist words and images being spray-painted on homes and vehicles in a predominately Black neighborhood on Saturday, Alabama Democratic Party Chair Randy Kelley released the following statement:
“We wholeheartedly condemn the shameful, racist attack in Montgomery that is reminiscent of this country’s oppressive past. These words and images were intended to intimidate and evoke fear in those who live and work here.”
“In light of the disturbing and senseless murders of three Black shoppers by a White supremacist in Jacksonville, Florida over the weekend, it becomes even more important to address hateful speech and actions against minorities before it escalates into full-scale violence. This level of hate must never be tolerated.”
