Today, the Alabama Democratic Party reaffirmed its support for its candidates, Allison Montgomery in House District 25 and Terri Osborne in House District 96, in the upcoming November 3 election.

While Alabamians continue to suffer from Republican policy of sky-high grocery and gas costs, a new forever war, and a complete dereliction of duty in getting support from this administration in FEMA support for Hurricane Isaias after supporting FEMA budget cuts, Chairman Stadthagen believes he has finally found the cure to these ailments: personal attacks on two committed public servants. Instead of focusing on policy issues they know are affecting the lives of Alabamians, the Alabama Republican Party sees fit to devolve into personal and improper attacks on Ms. Osborne and Ms. Montgomery to hide from the damage their supermajority has done to our families' bottom lines.

“Allison and Terri are committed community leaders, with platforms that represent necessary solutions that have been sorely lacking in discussions in our Republican-led Legislature,” said Senator Chairman Bobby Singleton, Chairman of the Alabama Democratic Party. “While I am not surprised that the Republican Party has dedicated their time to attacking Ms. Montgomery and Ms. Osborne, it continues to show their weaknesses in admitting that years of policy have only hurt our state and try to hide from our candidates’ common-sense solutions to benefit all Alabamians.”

Ironically, they claim that they’re doing it to protect the children, as ever since it became public that Representative Brett Easterbrook, Satsuma City School Board President Kory Wesley, and Orange Beech Public Works Director Timothy Tucker were allegedly caught human trafficking with intent to solicit sex from someone they believed was a minor, the Alabama Republican Party has decided to be mute in their criticism, with no condemnation to be seen. Thankfully, Republican Chairman Stadthagen has offered his prayers to his colleague, Rep. Easterbrook, during his “difficult” time.

“I think they need to reevaluate what they’re saying about this,” Chair Singleton stated” because right now it falls right into that category of Republicans wanting to protect the people that are actually harming our children.” Ms. Osborne and Ms. Montgomery are exemplary members of their community, and we enthusiastically support their campaigns for better representation and common-sense policy solutions in Alabama.
