Dear Alabama Democrats:
The State Democratic Executive Committee (SDEC) of Alabama will hold our organizational meeting on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex East Meeting Rooms (3rd Floor) located at 2100 Richard Arrington Blvd. N in Birmingham. Caucus meetings will begin at 9am. Voting for Caucus meetings will be staggered to allow members who are part of multiple caucuses full participation. Credentialing will begin at 8am for Caucus meetings and at 11am for the Organizational Meeting. I will call the Organizational Meeting to order at 12pm.
The Caucus Meetings will be held in the following rooms:
- Minority - N
- Youth - D
- Hispanic - K
- LGBTQ+ - E
- Asian/Pacific Islander - F
- Native American - J
- Disabled Persons - L
The Organizational Meeting will be held in East Meeting Rooms GHIM on the 3rd floor. Directional signs will be posted.
Qualifying for district vacancies, at-large members, and officers opens today and will close at 12pm on Friday, August 12, 2022. Nominations will be accepted from the floor on the day of the meeting. The qualifying fee for these positions are $50 and will be collected after a candidate has been elected.
