Randy Kelley, Chair of the Alabama Democratic Party, announced that on Saturday, May 6, 2023,
Congresswoman Nikema Williams, State of Georgia, will address Alabama Democrats at their Statewide Convention in Montgomery, Alabama at the Renaissance Hotel. The convention is scheduled for Friday, May 5 thru Saturday, May 6, 2023.
Congresswoman Williams serves as Chair of the Georgia Democratic Party, one of the successful blue states in the south. She also plays a key role in the National Democratic Party as a member of the Executive and Resolution Committees of the Democratic National Committee.
Congresswoman Williams was born in Columbus, Georgia and raised by her grandparents across the Chattahoochee River in Smiths Station, Alabama. She attended Talladega College –a liberal arts Historically Black College in Talladega, Alabama.
In keeping with the Alabama Democrats’ theme, To Heal and Build, bylaws changes will be addressed, which are expected to improve the Party’s efforts to rebuild itself over the next few years, announced Joe L. Reed, Chair of the Alabama Democratic Conference and Vice Chair for Minority Affairs of the Alabama Democratic Party.
