Following the November 8, 2019 qualifying deadline, two candidacy challenges were timely filed. Chair England convened a subcommittee and appointed Jim Sturdivant (chair), Julia Juarez, Sue Thompson, Curtis Travis, and Terri Wiggins-Chapman, all of whom are members of the Alabama Democratic Executive Committee. The committee met November 26, 2019 to hear the challenges and their orders follow.
