The Alabama Democratic Party is accepting applications to fill a vacancy in the Alabama State Senate created by State Senator Cam Ward's resignation. State Senate District 14 represents portions of Bibb, Chilton, Hale, Jefferson and Shelby counties.
The special primary election is Tuesday, March 30, 2021. If necessary, a Special Primary Runoff Election will be held on Tuesday, April 27. The Special General Election will be held on Tuesday, July 13.
Any resident of State Senate District 14 may complete a form and apply in person, by mail, or online. The prorated application fee is $215.15. Please call the Democratic Party office at (334) 262-2221 to verify residency and to request additional information.
All papers, including the fee, must be received by 5 P.M. Tuesday, January 26, 2021. Candidates may hand-deliver paperwork to the Alabama Democratic Party Office, 501 Adams Ave, Montgomery, AL 36104, or mail to the Alabama Democratic Party, P.O. Box 950, Montgomery, AL 36101.
