The Alabama Democratic Party is accepting applications to fill a vacancy in the Alabama State House created by Kirk Hatcher’s election to the State Senate. State House District 78 represents south, west and north Montgomery.
The special primary election is set for Tuesday, May 25, 2021; the special primary runoff, if necessary, for Tuesday, June 22, 2021; and the special general election for Tuesday, September 7, 2021.
Any resident of State House District 78 may complete a form and apply in person, by mail, or online. The prorated application fee is $215.15. Please call the Democratic Party office at (334) 262-2221 to verify residency and to request additional information.
All papers, including the fee, must be received Tuesday, March 23, 2021 by 5:00 p.m. Candidates may hand-deliver paperwork to the Alabama Democratic Party Office, 501 Adams Ave, Montgomery, AL 36104, or mail to the Alabama Democratic Party, P.O. Box 950, Montgomery, AL 36101.
