The Alabama Democratic Party is accepting applications to fill a vacancy in the Alabama State House created by State Representative Matt Fridy's resignation. State House District 73 represents parts of Shelby County and includes portions of Alabaster, Calera, Chelsea, Helena, Maylene, Montevallo, and Pelham.
The special primary election is Tuesday, March 30, 2021. If necessary, a Special Primary Runoff Election will be held on Tuesday, April 27. The Special General Election will be held on Tuesday, July 13.
Any resident of State House District 73 may complete a form and apply in person, by mail, or online. The prorated application fee is $215.15. Please call the Democratic Party office at (334) 262-2221 to verify residency and to request additional information.
All papers, including the fee, must be received by 5 P.M. Tuesday, January 26, 2021. Candidates may hand-deliver paperwork to the Alabama Democratic Party Office, 501 Adams Ave, Montgomery, AL 36104, or mail to the Alabama Democratic Party, P.O. Box 950, Montgomery, AL 36101.
