Thanking those who served on Veterans Day

Nearly one hundred years after the first official commemoration of Armistice Day - later named Veterans Day to honor veterans of all conflicts - we remain deeply indebted to those brave men and women of every generation who have served in the armed forces to defend our nation.

Peggy and I are proud parents of US Army Captain Leigh Kennedy, who is serving our country in Afghanistan. Today, on Veterans Day, we are thankful for the service and sacrifice of all those men and women who are wearing the uniform in service to their country.

We are sincerely grateful for the sacrifices they and their families have made, and we hope you will join us today in thanking them for all they do for our nation both at home and abroad.

Sincerely,

Mark Kennedy and the Staff of the Alabama Democratic Party
