Kay Ivey gets thousands from Romney PAC she has ‘no knowledge’ of
“Kay Ivey received thousands of dollars from this PAC when she was running for Lt. Governor,” said Bradley Davidson, Executive Director of the Alabama Democrats. "Including ten thousand dollars last November. If she can’t remember a PAC giving her that much money, it’s no surprise the PACT program tanked under her watch.” Alabama Democrats filed a joint complaint to the Federal Election Commission with the New Hampshire Democratic Party, asking the FEC and state finance regulatory bodies to investigate Romney’s questionable use of state PACs to solicit donations in excess of federal limits to fund his national political operations.

Democrats rally around HD45 nominee Paige Parnell
“Ms. Parnell is a great nominee for this district and we look forward to working with her to win this race,” said Richard Mauk, chairman of the Jefferson County Democratic Party. “She’s incredibly hard-working and will be a strong supporter of working families when she joins the ranks of our Democratic legislators.”

Paige Parnell is a native of Leeds, Alabama and owned an advertising and marketing business based in Leeds for 12 years. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Arizona State University. She received her law degree from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law and clerked for Arizona Supreme Court Justice Robert Corcoran.

Bentley passes out political favors with insurance commission
A Tuscaloosa-area Tea Party activist and a cousin of Governor Bentley are among those he named to his commission on home owners insurance reform, calling into question Bentley’s commitment to finding bipartisan solutions to lowering costs for Alabamians statewide. “A number of our Democratic legislators represent areas deeply impacted by the April tornadoes,” said Bradley Davidson, Executive Director for the Alabama Democrats. “I’m sure they would have welcomed the opportunity to represent their constituents on this committee. It’s disappointing that Bentley turned a good idea into another opportunity to pass out political favors.”
